Western Forests Health.

In partnership with the Union of Concerned Scientists, Witness Tree Media created visuals stories for the organization’s Western Forests Health Report. The report presented data collected on the health of key tree species in the Western United States that are being negatively impacted by the climate crisis. A panel of climatologists, forest scientists and representatives from the Union of Concerned Scientists presented their findings to the public in Denver, Colorado.

Witness Tree Media took members of the group into the field to tour forest areas being impacted by a variety of forest stressors including Mountain Pine Beetle infestation and Sudden Aspen Decline. Tree species highlighted in the Western Forests Health Report include quaking aspen, Rocky Mountain lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, pinyon pine, blue spruce, Douglas Fir and Rocky Mountain bristlecone pine.
